With a body about the size of a large basketball (~50cm) the Torresian Crow is a large and glossy black crow with a smaller beard (throat hackles) when calling compared to ravens.

Bird Features, Colours, Behaviours

Both female and male Torresian Crows are large and glossy black crows with small beards.  The youngest birds are yet to get their full glossy colours and their eyes are blue, turning brown and then finally end up white as adults. Their beaks are broad but pointy. They swagger or hop along to get places when not flying.

These guys are usually found in small groups and are hard to get close to.
